Some facts about Carry-Lite Decoys...

Carry-Lite is the oldest decoy manufacturer in the world, having been in business since 1924. The decoys in this catalog reflect over 70 years of decoy evolution and represents the state-of-the-art in decoy design.

It is not our goal to make the most decoys.Our goal is to take our time and make the best decoys!

When we state that our decoys represent the state-of-the-art, we mean just that. Our decoys have always been the most detailed and realistic looking decoys you can find anywhere because they are designed by avid waterfowl hunters with help from wildlife artists and are hand painted. Our Aqua-Keel design is so unique that it is patented worldwide and it is the only water keel that is self-ballasting. That is to say, once the keel fills with water, the water becomes somewhat trapped in the keel and acts as ballast which helps to stabilize the decoy in rough water. If choppy waves should tip the decoy on its side, the water trapped in the keel will automatically "self-right" the decoy. Other companies water keels are merely hollow, tube type rudders which do nothing to stabilize their decoys in rough water, and if their decoys should get turned over by choppy water, their water keels do nothing to help "right" their decoys.

Carry-Lite has always been the leading innovator in decoy design, partially because many of our employees are very active, serious waterfowl hunters. We spend many days each year out in the field using our products and thinking of ways to improve them. Some improvements are little things that make our decoys much easier to use. An example of this would be the way we redesigned our keels in 1996; dropping them lower to make it easier to wrap the anchor cord and adding a clip at the bottom of the keel to secure the anchor cord. We have also introduced more innovative decoy designs than all other companies combined. Here are some Carry-Lite firsts: we were the first to mold plastic decoys; the first to make full body geese with legs; the first to make one piece Goose shell decoys; the first and only company to make a water keel which holds water for ballast; the first to use white plastic cheek patches on Canada Goose decoys.As the leading innovator in decoy design and construction, we introduced our "Easy-Fold" Turkey decoys in 1994. Our exclusive "Easy-Fold" material is not only much more durable than the foam materials being used by many other manufacturers, but it enables us to produce decoys with greater detail, thereby creating a much more realistic, life-like decoy. Speaking of durability, the plastic we use for our duck and goose decoys is very durable under extreme conditions. It does not easily crack and shatter in the cold, like other brands. You will also notice that we are using molded white plastic cheek patches on many of our Canada Goose decoys. This is a little detail that keeps the decoys looking better longer and is easier to keep clean.
